Mandatory Strata Committee Training from 1 October 2026
Dear Strata Committee Members,
We wish to bring to your attention an important change to NSW strata legislation regarding mandatory training for Strata Committee Members, effective from 1 October 2026.
Please refer to the attached information outlining the new training requirements.
Any person elected to a strata committee after 1 October 2026, including either new or returning Strata Committee Members, will be required to complete NSW Fair Trading’s free online strata committee training within three months of being appointed to the committee.
The training is designed to assist committee members in understanding their roles and responsibilities, including governance, financial management, repairs and maintenance, risk management, and decision-making within their strata scheme.
We encourage all committee members to familiarise themselves with the attached information and the new requirements, particularly in preparation for their scheme’s next Annual General Meeting.
