IMPORTANT NOTICE – CHANGES TO DEFT PAYMENT OPTIONS
Dear Owners,
Please be advised of an important change to the DEFT payment platform, due to upcoming regulatory changes prohibiting merchant surcharges, Macquarie Bank has made the decision to discontinue credit and debit card payment facilities through DEFT rather than absorb the associated transaction costs.
Effective 1 October 2026, credit and debit card payments will no longer be accepted through DEFT.
If you currently pay your strata levies using a credit or debit card via DEFT, you will need to arrange an alternative payment method before this date.
Alternative DEFT Payment Options
You can continue to pay your levies using:
- BPAY – via internet or mobile banking using the Biller Code and DEFT Reference Number shown on your levy notice.
- Direct Debit via DEFT – make one-off, future-dated or recurring payments directly from your bank account.
- PayID – using your DEFT Reference Number followed by @deft.com.au.
- Australia Post – pay in person using the barcode shown on your levy notice
Your existing DEFT Reference Number will not change.
Please also note that any recurring credit or debit card payments scheduled on or after 1 October 2026 will be automatically cancelled. We encourage you to update your payment method before this date to avoid any disruption to your levy payments.
No action is required if you already pay your levies using one of the alternative payment methods listed above.
